I am glad you enjoyed the poem. I hope she is too. I have lost contact with her for quite awhile now so I have no way of knowing. I hope you have also found peace. I am here if you ever need somebody to talk to.
My latest poem… Feedback would be awesome. NOTE: Parts of this poem are intense.
I looked into her eyes and I saw the pain they beheld
The hell that dwelled and swelled up into every tear
Tired of living in fear
Living life like the end is always near
There was never a day where she wasn’t afraid
Never any sunshine only clouds of gray
Crying rain on every parade
Tears soaking every page in her book of life
My mind still cant let go of the look in her eyes
I watched her cry by my side
She couldn’t hide all the pain she had inside
It should be a crime for angels to feel this type of strife
Her ear to my chest
My heart beating with hers
I held her close and tried to take away the hurt
Where is the cure to wipe away the dirt
Thirst for love and still hurting
Sun wont come unless you open up the curtains
Tears bursting slip and slide down cheek
Energy deplete getting weak
Still one of the strongest women I have ever seen
I wanted her to be free
Take the rope off from around her neck
And use it to lasso all her dreams
Even though a thief tried to replace them with nightmares and screams
Because consent is just not in his dictionary
I wanted her to love and see all the gifts she carries
In her heart shaped sanctuary
I was head over heels
Drugged from the love like she was an apothecary
It has been over two years and I still view her in my mind
All the time we spent together
All the days she spent hating life and wanting to die
Storms were the only weather
PTSD’s rain clouds filled the skies
Getting colder
Move my arms too fast to hold her
She would flinch and jump back
So used to being the last man’s punching bag
Breaks my heart knowing that she had gotten so used to that
We were only teenagers
Nobody this young should ever have to know such tragedies
At a young age she was a victim of rape
Bad dates assault and battery
It is so sad to see
These tragedies attacking
She is majesty of angels
With cracked wings collapsing
Trapped in sadness
Wrapped in the casualty
You are a goddess that atrophied
Violated with unwelcome blasphemy
He cursed your name and slapped your face
Proceeded to rape you and left you with its aftertaste
Pretty rose picking up the pieces of a shattered vase
Wilting as you bloomed
Dying while you just started to come of age
That is what fuels your rage
You want it all to go away
Living life afraid every single second
Paranoia not knowing how to feel safe
Guards up as your only protection
I wish things never had to be this way
Angels like you deserve to have everything you ever wanted
You have been out of my life for a few years now
But my memories are haunted
It fuels me for the fight and puts lighter fluid on my fire
Now I want to dedicate my life to helping every survivor
Even if it is just one at a time
And I will always remember that sadness in your eyes

US Veterans to return military service medals at NATO in protest
Iraq war veteran Steven Acheson will engage in the rarest of protests this weekend: He will hand back his military service medals at the NATO summit in Chicago, an act one veteran calls “disgraceful.”
Acheson, who served for five years in the Army, including more than a year in Iraq that he says left him with PTSD and nightmares, is taking this step to protest the “war on terror” and the force leading it, NATO. He will be joined by a few dozen veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who are concerned about the wars’ fallout on veterans and civilians alike.
“I feel like this is a really good way for me to kind of, not clear my conscience, but just make a step in the direction of healing and kind of reconciling with the Afghan people and the Iraq people,” said Acheson, a 27-year-old college student from Wisconsin and a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, which includes soldiers who served in any of the post- 9/11 conflict zones. “… and let them know that we’re standing by their side and we’re not standing with NATO anymore. We don’t agree with the policies that are driving these wars.”

Me, about an hour before I threw back my global war on terror service medal back to NATO.
The statement I made with 45 other Iraq/Afghan vets in front of thousands of people:
My name is Shawna, and I was a nuclear biological chemical specialist for a war that didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction. So I deserted. I’m one of 40,000 people that left the United States Armed Forces because this is a lie!

Anonymous asked: Hey, I was wondering, if you have an issue with capitalism, then why are you using a computer that was made so that Compaq/HP/Apple/etc can make a profit? Don't you feel guilty that many people have to slave hard to make a computer so you can have access to the Internet?
Me not using a laptop is not going to bring down capitalism or even the laptop corporations. Also, I see my time spent on the laptop to spread info and propaganda (without the negative connotations) to bring an end to capitalism as a much better strategy to ending capitalism than refusing to buy a computer.
rainbowsmokes asked: thought you might wanna check out the recent posts I have on my blog about the Palestinian hunger striker, maybe even reblog them and get the word out there? it would be great if you did that and helped us get our voices and the voices of our hunger strikers out there :)

womenspeak asked: Hi, you posted my pic on your blog and attributed it to Meet us on the Street Anti-Street Harassment Day. They actually got it from my blog (March 18, 2011) and I wondered if you wouldn't mind adding a link to WomenSpeak under the photo so that people who are reblogging can learn more about what we're doing. Thanks.
Sure. I would love to. I just didn’t realize it was from you. Should I put the link to your tumblr page?

If you are a Marxist and you know it raise your fist. If you are a Marxist and you know it raise your fist. If you are a Marxist and you know it, then your strikes will clearly show it. If you are a Marxist and you know it raise your fist. :]
